The 2008 Ronayne year in song
Mixwit is to close final doors on the 31st so we have dashed in there to compose the last, great tapes of '08. Well I have, Jadingtons is still office bound, doing actual work. Meanwhile I have my aran sweater (or 'gansai nollaig') on and I'm just, you know, riding a white horse around the island, looking forlornly out to sea from the odd cliff and singing rebel songs with a general air of windswept lament.
Click through the tape above, there's a song for every month and they go like this...
January - 'The dress looks good on you' Sufjan Stevens
February - 'Split needles' The shins
March - 'Mykonos' the Fleet Foxes
April - 'Electric Feel' MGMT
May - 'To protect and entertain' Busy P/Crookers
June - 'Blue honey' Pop Levi
July - 'Tap at my window' Laura Marling
August - 'You'll find a way' (switch and Sinden remix) Santogold
September - 'Ce Jeu' Yelle
October - 'Tickle me pink' Johnny Flynn and the Sussex Wit
November - 'Strange Times' the Black Keys
December - 'Adam and Steve' Megapuss
Hard to pick only 12 but these are lovely, lovely songs that summerise a really wonderful year. Now let's all hold hands and sway slightly.
